Parametric Resonance with linear damping

Parametric resonance is a phenomenon comparable to a child pumping its legs on a swing. With only a slight initial swing, the child can increase the systems energy by periodically extending and contracting the legs. Pumping the legs is like a periodic spring parameter: When the potential energy is greatest, the spring parameters are changed so that the spring-stiffness is increased. Same amplitude with higher spring tension leads to an increase in potential energy, and the oscialltors total energy increases.
